Where are you located and what’s your favorite thing about your city?
I reside in the charming city of Dublin, Ireland, a place I hold dear for its abundant historical tapestry and the effervescence of its cultural milieu. The cultural scene in Dublin is as dynamic as it is diverse. It is a city that celebrates its past while simultaneously embracing the new and the avant-garde.
Why did you choose to join Quora?
I was drawn to the prospect of joining Quora, initially attracted by its commitment to a remote-first ethos and the platform's dedication to the exchange of knowledge. However, it was during the interview process that my appreciation deepened significantly; upon meeting the recruiter and the hiring team, I found myself thoroughly enamoured with both the individuals and the collective company culture.
What is your role at Quora and what team are you on?
I am a Program Manager within the Product Operations team, I am entrusted with the critical responsibility of leading and executing Audits of Moderation decisions across the platform, as well as conducting Quality Evaluations. Furthermore, a significant segment of my professional duties is devoted to performing rigorous UI/UX Quality Assurance for Poe, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience.
What kind of impact does your team have on the company as a whole?
My team occupies a pivotal position in the architecture of Quora's operational integrity and user satisfaction, we are at the forefront of safeguarding the platform's content quality and community standards. The audits of moderation decisions that my team conducts serve as a critical checkpoint to ensure that content moderation aligns with established guidelines and policies.
On Poe - our responsibilities in UI/UX Quality Assurance for Poe speak directly to the user's journey through the platform. By meticulously assessing and enhancing the user interface and user experience, we ensure that the platform remains intuitive, accessible, and enjoyable to navigate.
How would you describe the culture of your team and Quora as a whole?
My team is like one big diverse and happy family, fun and accommodating and we always learn from one another. Quora has a very transparent and open culture and it gives room for one to work on what they are interested in. It is a culture that gives room for growth and opportunities.

My professional ethos is deeply rooted in the principle of extending support and driving initiatives to fruition with an acute awareness of the overarching strategic vision. This approach resonates with me profoundly. Upon my integration into the team, the prevailing wisdom imparted by our Head emphasised the imperative of aligning our endeavours with the company's core mission and long-term objectives — a sentiment that echoes my own convictions. The doctrine of prioritising the company's foundational goals not only serves as a compass that guides our daily tasks but also ensures that our collective efforts are harmoniously woven into the broader tapestry of the company's aspirations. This alignment fosters a sense of unity and purpose, propelling us to achieve excellence through a concerted and synchronised effort.
What do you like to do outside of work?
In my free time, I enjoy watching films, engaging in conversations, relaxing at home, and traveling whenever possible.
What has been your favorite memory working at Quora?
The memory I hold dearest is when I first collaborated on a cross-functional project with the Machine Learning team, which turned out to be a resounding success.
What benefit has working remotely had on you?
The advantage of remote work, from my perspective, is the remarkable enhancement of my work-life balance. It affords me the flexibility to juggle various tasks effectively while liberating me from the necessity of a daily commute to a potentially bustling office environment, where distractions can often impede productivity.
Why have you chosen to stay at Quora?
Quora resonates with me as a second home; the people and culture. I eagerly anticipate the daily interactions with my colleagues and derive genuine enjoyment from both my role and the responsibilities it entails.
What qualities does someone need in order to be successful at Quora?
To achieve success at Quora, a platform known for knowledge sharing and insight dissemination, in my opinion, one would need to embody some qualities that facilitate meaningful contributions and engagement such as Adaptability, Collaboration, Clear and Effective Communication, Critical thinking and Flexibility.
As a manager, how have you been a positive influence on the career development of your team?
As a manager, my influence on the career development of my team manifests in several deliberate actions and strategies that aim to foster growth, inspire excellence, and facilitate the realization of each member's potential such as mentorship and coaching as well as constructive feedback and encouraging networking.
